  1. My residence card has reached to the immigration office but the immigration office has given me an appointment which has waiting period of 3 weeks. So it took 3 weeks to have my card prepared and 3 another weeks to receive it.

  2. I have lived in Germany , you know I hate the bureaucracy , they might me good at planning etc but they are not efficient as they say. The bureaucracy is as bad as Indian in terms of endless rules and regulations which are redundant . yes research and economy is really good , best in Europe , but administration matters

  3. > …highlighted many of German’s shortcomings in areas such as digitalization and bureaucracy…
    Same here in Japan!😂

  4. The problem is government gave out IT design and architecture to vendors. No one at the top understand how IT should be designed. Thus, not only German or uk. I worked in uk ‘s universal credit project. The people who are government employees at not answered to their inefficiency.

  5. AND THE WESTERN GOVERNMENTS AND MEDIA WERE LAUGHING AT CHINA THEN. THEY'RE NOT LAUGHING NOW ARE THEY?

  6. DW's correspondent Wu Dandan said in Februrary last year that only Democracy can save people from Covid. Well there's no democracy in Germany.

  7. As a foreigner who has lived in a lot of countries worldwide and currently who lives in Germany, I have been suffering with so many posts and bureaucracy here in Germany. We live in digital world and everything should be happening with one click. In my home country, we have one central system for EVERYTHING, but the mentality in Germany is against this idea due to some factors. It's like country is against the digital system and telecommunication systems. Even in major cities sometimes I have had absolutely no mobile signal (reception) at all. 4G and 4G+ coverage is horrible, fiber optic internet is very rare and majority is using still DSL internet in Germany. Only within a few months in Germany I have received more letters already than I have received in my whole life before. You can see the DHL's vehicles are active all around the country, hence Germans love sending posts. They probably think it is more secure than email. However anyone could simply open up the post boxes and steal people's envelopes. But not everyone could hack email addresses… Anyway this is so silly I am comparing both of these here. The world knows very well emails are more secure than posts. The main point here is the mentality… Germany is far behind the internet world and today's digital communication systems and unified e-government portals… But yes the economy here in Germany is great, the GDP is high. It's just the bureaucracy… I am seriously struggling how things so slow in Germany compared to other countries today. By the way, I have lived in 3rd world countries as well. They were already more into digital life and network… FYI.

  8. Here in god forsaken Philippines, we received sms from loval government before your vaccine appointment. Wow. This is surprising and I understand why Germans are very hesitant with digitalization.

  9. Germany is Europe encapsulated in a small pill, very good impression at first, but when you start digging deeper …

  10. It would be more helpful to not blame on each other but to care about each other. Please think about it and let's try to find a way out of this pandemic… Danke 🙂

  11. I used live in Germany in the begin years 90, was there 2019 was surprising that they still use FAX at the known bureaucracy. I found so strange.

  12. @Killian Bayer, how about stop calling the restrictions a "Lockdown" as you do more than once in the first minutes of this informing video. Yes, you later point out it was only ever a "limited Lockdown" but the media has ruined any force this word had. France, Italy & Spain are countries in the EU that had real lockdowns: printing & filling out a form each time you want to go out, absolutely nothing is that kind happened in Germany!

  13. A document sent via fax machine is a considered legally delivered. If the receiving fax machine prints the document, then the sender can print a confirmation & this will be recognised by a court while the same is not the case for email!

  14. Is this why Germany is looking to China for support? Does it feel too ashamed to continue working with the west who handled it far better ? and Germany's wrong assumption that it was superior to it's neighbours was in fact quite dumb and that it has lost face by failure?

  15. Our Politicians are more busy making deals and getting even richer , first with masks and now with the vaccines. simply a bunch of hypocritical cheats

  16. I think it is wrong to blame on Federalism. India, for instance, has a Central Government but behaved similar to Germany which has a Federal setup. Both handled the first wave better but lost control of second wave. There is something else is at play, probably economics?

  17. "Needless to say, this partial lockdown was only partially successful"
    Now, who would have thought…

  18. REVELATIONS 13….NO ONE CAN BUY OR SELL WITHOUT THE MARK OF THE BEAST!!! PFIZER NOW WANTS MILITARY BASES IN COUNTRIES IN EXCHANGE FOR THE VACCINE THIS IS AN AGENDA YOU ALL….WATCH GRAVITAS PFIZERS ABUSIVE VACCINE DEALS ON YOUTUBE TO SEE WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON!

  19. In the UAE we never used fax because at the time of fax we were an undeveloped country. Now we are 100% digital and one of the most connected countries in the world 🙃

  20. The problem is it's "been under some form of lock down for 6 months", all of the pain and little of the benefit.

  21. I suffered!. Did a PCR test a day before my flight. The next day I needed the test result for my flight but guess what happened. They test center said the only way to get my test result was to contact my house doctor. I called my house doctor. He said the only way to get the result is by post or coming to clinic in person. I almost missed my flight in struggle to get the test result.

  22. Great work on switching to electronic from fax. Now when are you switching the official language from German to English?

  23. The fax thing gets me. I live in a developing country, where they have TWO apps for people to scan when going into places (mandatory) and results are digitally updated daily. I can’t believe a country that makes BMW still uses fax machines, which were chucked out by most countries a couple of decades ago.

  24. In Germany they still use fax machines, talking and walking, that is not signs of bureaucracy, more likely signs of bs journalism.

  25. This could be one of reasons why Germany lacks behind in internet infrastructure especially its speed.

  26. The most technological and wealthy in euro and yet Germany still using outdating tech from 80s

  27. No prevention campaign. Not even communication of a reccommendation for people with symptoms to stay at home. Burocracy without population involvement or pragmatism.

  28. I live in Germany. My husband emailed his health insurance here about an issue. They sent him a letter by post just to say thank you for his email and they will get back to him shortly. I think that sums up German efficiency!

  29. Why are the candles under the computer screen?. I hope the heat didn't melt the parts of the screen directly above the candles 🙂

  30. It's pretty easy to explain. A highly corrupt CDU, constantly involved in scandal, has been in the government for decades.

Incompetent, politicians interested in their own enrichment, unable to act without months of idle talk.

Germany is being deliberately destroyed by these politicians.

  31. it is not selfish not to take a covid vaccine and anyone who says it is is a loopy history denier as 100 years ago herd immunity from the Spanish flu was achieved WITHOUT mass vaccinations

  32. Did it loose control? Did it really? It did not. Apart from Scandinavia Germany was doing through the winter much better than all other countries in Europe, because it managed to keep the infection rate low throughout the winter with as you sad only partial lockdown. It is a success. The fact people are not happy in pandemics is understandable and completely inevitable.

  33. I visited Germany right before pandemic began and I agree that there is a lot of myths us foreigners apply to Germany and Germans which is so untrue!! Ever heard of Ausländerbehörde?! Their bureaucracy is pure evil.

  34. Great decentralisation is the cause here ,in india the central govt is blamed for centralisation.

  35. I think that countries that have ordered enough vaccination (like UK, EU, USA and others) should share and send to those countries who are suffering right now, like India does and give away vaccination which also means that people here might have to wait… Those people do need it more right now…

  36. The myth of Germany's totalitarianism is true, though. This week a man was arrested in relation to COVID just because he read passages of the German constitution in public.

  37. Whats worse is many places in germany still dont have drinkable water. They have to drink something called mineralvasser. I wouldnt wish that stuff on my worst enemy.

  38. The unfortunate thing is that it took something like corona to make Germany go “uh, maybe we should switch to email instead of using faxes”.
Maybe even more unfortunate: this didn’t trigger (at least to my knowledge) any other much needed “upgrade” to kinda be. 21st century compliant. Coming from an ex communist country, I spent my childhood and early adulthood listening home politicians describing german efficiency as something almost foreign to this planet. I’ve been living and working in Germany for a while now and all I can say is that I had been fed a pile of bs. I simply struggle to understand how such a prominent country could lack in so many basic aspects that are supposed to be a given in 2021. Even more puzzling is the general resignation like “this is how things are”. I strongly wish that future updates would be more in sync with the reality around us and that it won’t take a pandemic to trigger the acknowledgement that things could be done better, simpler and more efficient.

  39. You mean the same country that try to sell to the world that they are already in the industry 4.0 age for years ????

  40. The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. Successful people do daily what the unsuccessful only do occasionally

  41. Discretion is advised! If this video is as skewed as DW:s piece on Swedens Covid strategy there is a lot to question here!

  42. Covid Vaccine Questionnaire to show people to wake them up:
Here are 12 important questions and answers before considering getting vaccinated:
‘1. "If I get vaccinated can I stop wearing a mask(s)?" Government: "NO"
    2. "If I get vaccinated will the restaurants, bars, schools, fitness clubs, hair salons, etc. reopen and will people be able to get back to work like normal? Government: "NO"
    3. "If I get vaccinated will I be resistant to Covid?" Government: "Maybe. We don't know exactly, but probably not."
    4. "If I get vaccinated, at least I won't be contagious to others – right?" Government: "NO. the vaccine doesn’t stop transmission."
    5. "If I get vaccinated, how long will the vaccine last?" Government: "No one knows. All Covid "vaccines" are still in the experimental stage."
    6. "If I get vaccinated, can I stop social distancing?" Government: "NO"
    7. "If my parents, grandparents and myself all get vaccinated can we hug each other again?" Government: "NO"
    8. "So, what's the benefit of getting vaccinated?" Government: "Hoping that the virus won't kill you."
9."Are you sure the vaccine won't injure or kill me?" Government: "NO"
    10. "If statistically the virus won't kill me (99.7% survival rate), why should I get vaccinated "Government: "To protect others."
    11. "So, if I get vaccinated, I can protect 100% of people I come in contact with" Government: "NO"
    12. "If I experience a severe adverse reaction, long term effects (still unknown) or die from the vaccine will I (or my family) be compensated from the vaccine manufacturer or the Government" Government: "NO – the government and vaccine manufacturers have 100% zero liability regarding this experimental drug"
This was a Dilettante Presumption Theorem: All statements of fact, opinion, or analysis expressed do not necessarily reflect official positions or views or any other entity, past or present. Nothing in the contents should be construed as asserting or implying endorsement of interpretations and factual statements.

  43. They did ….. not allways a good Job …. everything is confusing …… BUT you have to admit the Numbers are finaly going down

  44. It is deep down in the culture of the country not just the system. People in Germany are still heavily relying on cash for payments, fax and any other type of collaboration which is old fashioned, they still have a lot of paranoia when it comes to privacy and the biggest problem is that they don't want to learn from other countries, always thinking that the German way is the best way. It is no surprise that in many areas Germany is falling behind because the people, the system, the government are not going with the pace that the world is going. In the next decade you would see some German car manufacturers will go bust because they have already lost the battle of e-cars to USA and China. There is literally no German company which has any strong foot in IT in the world (no SAP doesn't count because they are yet another manifestation of German corporate old fashioned culture)

  45. Nice video I so much love it…… most people remain poor only because friends and relatives discouraged and advised them against investing and trading forex while the wise ones kept investing and going higher financially

  46. lol same thing happened in japan, at first everyone was like "OMG AMAZING they're handling the pandemic so well"; as time went on, issues known to most residents became evident – bureaucracy, fax machines, poor management… i hope this virus will propel both our nations in the 21st century ; )

  47. german efficiency is a myth. having lived here, I'm seeing firsthand how slow and inefficient the country is.

  48. You failed to mention the impact of the upcoming Superwahljahr on the reluctance to implement measures that would be much needed but disliked by parts of the electorate…

  49. Spanish flu disappeared without any vaccination after 1 year of transmission. WUHAN VIRUSES is man made VIRUSES that keep changing. All countries should ask compensation from pathological liar CCP China. ..Wuhan viruses Deaths:
    3,395,232 people
    Recovered:
    142,299,084 people

  50. German efficiency is a myth. Or at least it doesn't apply to modern Germany. The cliche of German efficiency/engineering dates back to the years after WW2 when old Germans rebuilt Germany in break neck speed. Needless to say modern Germans put old Germans to shame.

  51. it is really funny that you are talking about germany to me one of the most advance country but still using fax. In mt country almost nobodt know what is Fax

  52. Like the brits dream of their empire, the germans still believe in the myth of their efficiency and the land of „ Dichter und Denker“.

  53. Finally a video showing what Germany really looks like. Loving it, please show more of what's going wrong in Germany 👍

  54. Do it like Kenya my dudes. We've been in curfew and entertainment (restaurant and clubs close at 7 and only this year can u sit in) lockdown since march last year. Currently we have 3000 deaths and all my uncles have been vaccinated. My aunt even managed to get a place we can be vaccinated but I want to wait first

  55. I think one part you missed in the video is that politicians here seemed (and still seem) to think that you magically cannot infect yourself in the workplace. For example, while only up to 5 people are allowed to meet up privately and you will have to wear a mask in most situations in the public, e.g. when shopping, it was/partially still is perfectly fine if a hundred people are sitting together on the same office floor without wearing masks or getting tested. Working from home is also not a requirement but more a suggestion. So of course many companies do not let their employees work from home even where it is technically possible.

  56. Do people in industrialized country still use FAX machines ? My mom used to send documents with FAX in the 90s. Now She sends them via e-mail. It's more pratical

  57. DONT DO ONE ON UK EFFEICENSY PLEASE WE ARE LAUGHING STOCK ROUND THE WORLD NOW ALREADY HAHAHAHA

  58. Hope lockdown will be lift up soon because many people are already depressed as an effect of this lockdown

  59. German-companies are efficient
    German people are efficient
-But not the government , because of the 200 years als prussian bureaucracy
